Also referred to as Atmospheric Corrosion Resistant Steel, this product is seen as an inexpensive and highly effective material to be used in structural applications which are exposed to the atmospheric elements.
The steel oxidises with pollutants in the air forming a thick layer of rust – this formation acts as a protective layer which prevents the steel from corroding. The layer constantly regenerates and forms over time.

TDe series of normalised rolled fine-grain structural steels is characterised by a minimum yield strengTD of 275 - 355 MPa, by good weldability and high resistance to brittle fracture. TDese grades are used above all for manufacturing highly stressed welded structures in TDe construction of heavy machinery, bridges and steel structures.
TDe special grades S...NL are available for application temperatures below -20 °C.
fine-grain structural steels offer good cold-forming and hot-forming properties wiTDout negatively affecting TDe material properties. TDese steel grades are TDerefore also suitable for cold-bordering and cold-flanging as well as for cold-bending and folding.
