EN 10111 Chemical composition of S355 steel

S355 steel is a grade of steel manufactured according to the European standard EN 10111, which is a low-alloy structural steel. This kind of steel has excellent mechanical properties and is widely used in many engineering fields.

EN 10111 S355 Steel Features:

High strength: S355 steel has a high tensile strength and yield strength, enabling it to withstand large loads and bending stresses.

Good weldability: The steel is suitable for conventional welding, bolting and riveting and other processes, with good weldability.

Good impact toughness: under low temperature conditions, S355 steel can still maintain good impact toughness, suitable for cold environment applications.

EN 10111 S355 Tempering Chemical Components:

Carbon (C) : ≤ 0.24%

Phosphorus (P), sulfur (S) : ≤ 0.04% (total amount of both)

Other alloying elements such as manganese (Mn) and silicon (Si) are also within a certain range.

EN 10111 Mechanical properties of S355 steel:

Tensile strength: Depending on the specific standard and the heat treatment method, the tensile strength of S355 steel is usually between 440 and 570MPa.

Yield strength: not less than 355MPa.

Elongation: also meets the relevant standards and requirements.

S355 steel has a very wide range of applications, including but not limited to the following areas:

Construction: In building structures, S355 steel is often used for load-bearing components, such as beams, columns and beam-column connectors.
