Characteristics of EN 10028-3 P275 steel
EN 10028-3 P275 steel is a European standard steel plate, specifically divided into several sub-categories, such as P275NL1 and P275NL2. They are normalized weldable fine grain steels, non-alloyed steels, corresponding to the number 1.1104. These steel plates are mainly used in the manufacture of pressure equipment, such as pressure vessels.
EN 10028-3 P275 Steel Features:
Low temperature toughness: P275NL1 and P275NL2 maintain good strength and toughness at low temperatures and are suitable for use in low temperature environments.
Weldability: P275 steel has good weldability and can be processed and connected by common welding methods.
Corrosion resistance: Although P275 steel itself is not corrosion resistant, it can be improved by surface coating or hot-dip galvanizing.
EN 10028-3 P275 Tempering Chemical Components:
Carbon (C) : ≤ 0.016%
Silicon (Si) : ≤ 0.40%
Manganese (Mn) : 0.80-1.50%
Phosphorus (P) : ≤ 0.025%
Sulfur (S) : ≤ 0.015%
The content of other alloying elements (such as Al, N, Cr, Cu, Mo, Nb, Ni, Ti, V, etc.) also has specific limits, but generally does not exceed the given maximum value.
EN 10028-3 P275 Steel Mechanical Properties:
Yield Strength: about 275MPa
Tensile Strength: 370-510MPa
The specific mechanical properties may vary depending on the specific type of steel plate and the heat treatment method.
P275 steel is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, power station, boiler and other industries, specifically for the manufacture of single-layer roll-welded containers, multi-layer hot jacket roll-welded containers, multi-layer wrapped containers and other two and three types of containers and low-temperature pressure vessels. These steel plates are also commonly used in the production of reactors, heat exchangers, separators, spherical tanks, oil and gas tanks, liquefied gas tanks, boiler drum, liquefied petroleum steam bottles, high pressure water pipes of hydropower stations, water turbine volutes and other equipment and components.
