1.2312 mold steel heat treatment process and composition analysis

1.2312 steel is a pre-hardened large plastic mold steel, which is a conventional smelting EF+LF+VD material imported from Gelitz, Germany. It is suitable for limited polishing, has excellent machinability, ordinary chrome plating and sun graining, has good toughness and machinability, and is not suitable for sun graining and polishing with higher requirements. 1.2312 mold steel is mainly used in large plastic molds and mold bases, such as car bumpers, TV shell mold shells, etc. 1.2312 steel is suitable for making plastic molds and die-casting low-point metal mold materials. 1.2312 steel shell has good machinability and mirror grinding performance.

1.2312 mold steel chemical composition and mechanical properties:
C: 0.35-0.45, Si: 0.30-0.50, Mn: 1.40-1.60, P:≤0.030, S: 0.05-0.10, Cr: 180-2.00, Mo: 0.15-0.25

1.2312 mold steel process:
In the mold production cost, the material cost generally accounts for 10%-20%, while the machining, heat treatment, assembly and management costs account for more than 80%, so the process performance of the mold material is one of the main factors affecting the production cost and manufacturing difficulty of special steel.
