Weldability of SA387Gr11CL2 steel
The chemical composition, grain size and non-metallic inclusions of SA387Gr11CL2 steel should be strictly controlled when ordering materials and welding consumables to ensure that SA387Gr11CL2 steel and welded joints meet technical requirements and have good anti-brittleness properties.
SA387Gr11CL2 steel has poor welding performance, severe hardening tendency, and is prone to cold cracks. Preheating and interlayer temperature should be strictly controlled during the welding process. Hydrogen elimination treatment or intermediate stress relief heat treatment and final heat treatment should be carried out immediately after welding. During the manufacturing process, only by strictly controlling each process can the quality of SA387Gr11CL2 steel be guaranteed.
The SA387Gr11CL2 steel thick-walled container is welded using the submerged arc welding process, which improves labor productivity, saves welding materials, reduces energy consumption, and ensures the welding quality of SA387Gr11CL2 steel. The welded joint has good overall performance and good temper brittleness resistance.
