The advantages of 9Mn2V steel

9Mn2V steel is a low alloy tool steel with comprehensive mechanical properties superior to carbon tool steel. It has high hardness and wear resistance, small quenching deformation and good hardenability.

(1) Mn element enhances the hardness and strength of the 9Mn2V steel during heat treatment while ensuring the toughness of the steel.

(2) Mn element also increases the amount of steel pearlite, refines the pearlite, strengthens the ferrite, and improves the yield strength.

(3) The V element overcomes the influence of the Mn element on the reduction of the weldability of the steel and improves the weldability of the 9Mn2V steel. In addition, the V element can also enhance the resistance of the 9Mn2V steel to hydrogen corrosion at high temperatures.

(4) 9Mn2V steel is suitable for the manufacture of various precision measuring tools and templates; it is also used to manufacture smaller dies, cold pressing dies, engraving dies and blanking dies that are generally required.
