Steel Pioneer: A516
A516 boiler vessel plate is divided into four grades: 55, 60, 65 and 70, and each grade has different tensile force. Its main use is to manufacture gas pressure vessels (liquefied petroleum gas, butane and propane tanks), parts of steam boiler, compressors, etc.
A516 is also called alloy plate because it contains elements such as C, Mn, Si, p, s, etc. The content of each element will change the properties of alloy steel, for example, the presence of chromium may increase the brittleness of A516 alloy plate; the presence of molybdenum and nickel improves the mechanical properties of A516 alloy steel such as stress and tension.
Features of A516 steel plate:
A516 steel can withstand high temperature, so A516 Gr70, A516 Gr65, A516 Gr60 and A516 Gr 55 can be used in the manufacture of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and can also be used to build towers and boilers that need to withstand high temperatures for distillation. These plates made of A516 steel are used in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries. Depending on the shape of the steel structure, this type of steel is a suitable choice for the construction of gas storage tanks.
In fact, the difference between different grades of A516 steel plates lies in the pressure and temperature resistance, light transmittance, tensile test and impact test.
