Factors of affecting non-metallic inclusions in SS400 molten steel
The main factors of affecting non-metallic inclusions in SS400 molten steel are: the process control of smelting process and the quality of original paving materials.
Operation control of smelting process
In the process of operation control for SS400 steel smelting, excessive of oxygen blowing decarbonization, a large amount of supplementary for alloy, insufficient boiling and reduction time, uneven stirring intensity of SS400 molten steel, high temperature, poor control of SS400 steel slag composition, a large amount of temperature rise, operations such as large-flow stirring and high-speed wire feeding will increase non-metallic inclusions in SS400 molten steel. Most of the sulfides, oxides, and nitrides in non-metallic inclusions are produced during the smelting process.
Quality of original paving materials
For the original paving materials used, the quality of the alloy, miscellaneous materials and refractory materials themselves, and the degree of SS400 steel ladle preparation (temperature, cleanliness, etc.) will affect the non-metallic inclusions in SS400 molten steel. Most of the silicates in the non-metallic inclusions are produced during the smelting process, and a small part is substituted by the original paving materials.
