Difference between S500MC and QStE500TM

S500MC is a thermomechanically rolled weldable fine grain structural steel. "S" means structural steel; "500" means that the yield is greater or equal to 500MPa (thickness is less than 16mm); "M" means the delivery state of the S500MC steel plate, that is, thermomechanical rolling; "C": means cold forming.

QStE500TM steel has high strength, good elongation and bending properties, and QStE500TM steel can be used for parts with high formability requirements.
Chemical composition:

Grade C Si Mn S P
S500MC ≤0.12 ≤0.50 ≤1.70 ≤0.015 ≤0.025
QStE500TM ≤0.12 ≤0.50 ≤1.80 ≤0.015 ≤0.025

S500MC steel plates are mainly used in bridges, ships, power station equipment, lifting and transportation machinery, machinery manufacturing and other engineering and welded structural parts that bear high loads.

QStE500TM steel plates are mainly used for structural parts of automobiles, such as girders, wheels, spokes and hubs, auto parts, stress parts and spare parts of mechanical equipment. The stress-bearing parts of construction machinery such as the frame of electric forklifts, the boom and frame of small-tonnage cranes, etc.
