Composition of A514 Grade B steel plate
The composition of A514 Grade B steel plate mainly includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), chromium (Cr), molybdenum (Mo) and other elements. Specifically, its chemical composition parameters are roughly as follows:
Carbon (C) content: approximately 0.12-0.21%. This high carbon content gives the steel plate high strength and hardness.
Silicon (Si) content: no more than 0.35%. The addition of silicon can improve the toughness and wear resistance of the steel plate.
Manganese (Mn) content: between 0.7% and 1%. The addition of manganese can also improve the toughness and wear resistance of the steel plate.
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S) content: The content of these two elements should be as low as possible because they cause the brittleness and crack susceptibility of the steel plate to increase. Usually the phosphorus content does not exceed 0.03%, and the sulfur content does not exceed 0.03%.
Chromium (Cr) and molybdenum (Mo) content: The addition of chromium can increase the corrosion resistance of the steel plate, while molybdenum can improve its high temperature resistance. The specific content depends on the use and performance requirements of the steel plate.
