Common Defects and Preventive Measures of 35CrMo Steel
1. Cracks appear on the surface of 35CrMo steel after carburizing
Reason:
a.The concentration of surface penetration layer for 35CrMo steel is too high.
b.35CrMo steel has poor concentration gradient of infiltrated layer.
c.The cooling rate of 35CrMo steel is not appropriate.
d.35CrMo steel itself has serious dendrite segregation.
Prevention method:
a.Strictly control the heating temperature and speed of 35CrMo steel, and try
to heat evenly.
b. Strictly control the carburizing process of 35CrMo steel.
c. Select the appropriate cooling rate.
d. Check whether there is segregation in the composition of 35CrMo steel.
2. Deformation of 35CrMo steel after quenching
Reason:
a.35CrMo steel is quenched in the wrong way.
b.The quenching cooling rate of 35CrMo steel is too large.
c.The temperature of quenching heating for 35CrMo steel is too high.
Prevention method:
a. Formulate the correct quenching method.
b. Select the appropriate quenching medium and quench in strict accordance
with the operating specifications.
c. Control the quenching heating temperature.
