Chemical properties and application of pressure vessel steel plate SA302 Gr.C
SA302 Gr.C belongs to Mn-Mo and Mn-Mo-Ni alloy steel plates for pressure vessels, and implements ASME SA302/SA302M standard (American Society for Testing and Materials).
SA302 Gr.C steel plate is widely used in the production of EO reactor barrel, head and support plate.
SA302 Gr.C steel plate delivery condition: hot rolled, normalized, normalized + stress relieved.
Melting analysis of chemical composition of pressure vessel steel plate SA302 Gr.C:
C≤0.23, Si 0.15-0.4, Mn 1.15-1.5, P≤0.025, S≤0.025, Ni 0.4-0.7, Mo 0.45-0.6
Mechanical properties of pressure vessel steel plate SA302 Gr.C:
Re(MPa)≥345
Rm(MPa)550-690
A200≥17%
A50≥20%
SA302 Gr.C steel plate delivery condition: Hot Rolled, Hot Rolled + Normalized or Stress Relieved
Heat treatment process of SA302 Gr.C steel plate:
When the thickness of SA302 Gr.C steel plate is less than 50mm, hot rolling, normalizing, normalizing + stress relief treatment can be selected. When the thickness is greater than 50mm thick, the delivery state is normalized. When normalizing steel plates with a thickness of 100mm or more, the cooling can be accelerated by blower or liquid quenching followed by tempering in the temperature range of 1100-1300°F (595-705) to achieve normalization with smaller thickness steel plates.
Application range of pressure vessel steel plate SA302 Gr.C:
SA302 Gr.C steel plate is widely used in petroleum, chemical, power station, boiler and other industries, for the production of reactors, heat exchangers, separators and other equipment and components.
