Chemical composition and mechanical properties of 16MnD5 carbon steel

Introduction to 16MnD5 carbon steel
16MnD5 medium carbon quenched and tempered steel has higher strength, toughness and hardenability than No. 45 steel. After quenching and tempering, it can obtain better comprehensive mechanical properties, good machining performance, but poor welding performance and low cold deformation plasticity. 16MnD5 carbon steel is generally used in the quenched and tempered state for the manufacture of parts subject to wear, such as shafts, spindles, crankshafts, splined shafts, connecting rods, universal joint shafts, meshing rods, gears, clutch discs, bolts, nuts, etc.
