Characteristics of 40Cr mold steel
Introduction to 40Cr mold steel grade:
40Cr steel is one of the most widely used steels in the machinery manufacturing industry. It is a Chinese steel grade. The hardenability of 40Cr steel is higher than that of 45# steel, and it is suitable for high-frequency quenching, flame quenching and other surface hardening treatments. It is medium carbon quenched and tempered steel and cold heading mold steel.
Characteristics of 40Cr mold steel:
40Cr steel has moderate price, easy processing and certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance after proper heat treatment. Normalizing can promote the refinement of the structure, close to the equilibrium state, and improve the cutting performance of the blank. Tempered at 550-570 ℃, 40Cr steel has the best comprehensive mechanical properties. After quenching and tempering, it has good comprehensive mechanical properties, good low-temperature impact toughness and low notch sensitivity. 40Cr steel has good hardenability and can be hardened to Ф 28-60mm, hardenable to Ф 15-40mm. In addition to quenching and tempering, 40Cr steel is also suitable for cyaniding and high-frequency quenching. The relative machinability is 60% when the hardness is 174-229HB. 40Cr steel is suitable for making medium plastic moulds.
