Characteristics and applications of 45# steel plate
45# steel plate is called in the national standard, also called "excellent steel". 45# steel plate is pure steel and belongs to medium carbon steel plate. 45# steel plate is mainly used to manufacture mechanical structural parts with certain strength and impact resistance, such as automobile beams, beams, and frame.
45# steel plate is a commonly used medium carbon quenched and tempered structural steel. This steel has general cold plasticity, and is slightly better than quenched and tempered by annealing and normalizing. 45# steel plate has higher strength and better machinability, and can be obtained certain toughness, plasticity, wear resistance and convenient material source after proper heat treatment. 45# steel plate is suitable for hydrogen welding and argon arc welding, but not suitable for gas welding. Preheating is required before welding, and stress relief annealing should be carried out after welding.
The hardness of the 45# steel plate quenched and tempered part after quenching should reach HRC56~59. The possibility of a large cross section is lower, but it cannot be lower than HRC48. Otherwise, it means that the workpiece has not been completely quenched, and there may be sorbite or even ferrite in the structure.
