40Cr steel
40Cr steel plate is one of the steels widely used in machinery manufacturing industry. After quenching and tempering treatment, it has good comprehensive mechanical properties, good low temperature impact toughness and low notch resistance.

40Cr steel is moderately priced, easy to process, and it can obtain certain toughness, plasticity and wear resistance after proper heat treatment. Normalizing can promote the spheroidization of the structure and improve the cutting performance of the hardness less than 160HBS rough.
40Cr steel has good hardenability. It can be hardened to Ф28-60mm when water quenching, and Ф15-40mm when oil quenching. 40Cr steel is suitable for high-frequency quenching in addition to quenching and tempering. 40Cr steel has better machinability, when the hardness is 174-229HB, the relative machinability is 60%, which is suitable for making medium-sized plastic molds.
