S420MC VS QSTE420TM
The grades of S420MC and QSTE420TM are similar, even in some steel plants, they can be used in common. Both S420MC and QSTE420TM require good cold forming performance and high strength, and are suitable for automobile structural parts such as automobile girders and beams.
Both S420MC and QSTE420TM are required to do impact energy tests, but in fact, many steel mills do not conduct impact energy tests on QSTE420TM. In the absence of impact energy tests for QSTE420TM, the two cannot be substituted, otherwise in cold environments, the material There will be problems; and S420MC, mainly for export materials, will basically do impact energy experiments at minus 20 degrees.
Sampling for performance test: S420MC is mainly used for export, and the sampling for tensile test is longitudinal sampling, while QSTE420TM is currently mostly used by domestic manufacturers. The tensile test is different for each steel plant, there are horizontal sampling and longitudinal sampling, so the two are still have a difference in strength.
Generally speaking, the strength of 420-grade steel is about 20MP lower than that of horizontal sampling when longitudinally sampled. To put it bluntly, it is the same material, and the data measured by horizontal sampling is about 20MP higher than the data measured by longitudinal sampling. , so the user must understand clearly when using it. If the physical data is far greater than the standard, then don't care. If the data is just hovering around the standard, then be cautious.
