Conditions and advantages of weathering treatment for Corten B
Before weathering treatment, we must consider the following three points:
a.The following conditions are not suitable for weathering treatment of Corten B: (1) Placed in soil or water; (2) Located in areas containing ammonia and other alkaline gases; (3) Corten B steel is located in an impact-prone location. Because these conditions affect the formation of a stable oxide film.
b.When Corten B needs welding, the solder must have weather resistance and corrosion performance, so it is usually welded first and then subjected to weather resistance treatment. If prepalene is sprayed before welding, bubbles will occur.
c. When using high-tension screws, nuts, and backing plates, these supplies must also have the characteristics of weather and corrosion resistance.
After weathering treatment, Corten B has the following advantages:
(1) Because a stable oxide film is formed, there is no rust peeling off, so pollution problems can be avoided.
(2) The surface of Corten B is quite smooth.
