ASTM B168 N08800 - Characteristics and applications of nickel-iron-chromium alloys
ASTM B168 N08800 is manufactured according to ASTM B168 standard and is a high-performance nickel-iron-chromium alloy. Its composition mainly includes nickel, iron and chromium, of which the content of nickel is about 30~35%, the content of chromium is about 19~23%, and iron is the basic component of the alloy. This special chemical composition gives N08800 alloy excellent heat and corrosion resistance.
ASTM B168 N08800 alloy Features:
Excellent strength: N08800 alloy maintains excellent strength at high temperatures and pressures, thanks to its high content of nickel and chromium elements.
Corrosion resistance: The alloy has very high corrosion resistance, can be used in a variety of strong acids, bases and salts and other corrosive media for a long time, and also has excellent resistance to oxidizing environments.
High temperature stability: A major feature of N08800 alloy is its stability at high temperatures. It is able to operate for long periods at temperatures up to 982°C (1800°F) without losing mechanical strength, mainly thanks to the stable oxide layer formed in the alloy.
Good workability: N08800 alloy can be processed and formed by forging, rolling and drawing, and can be deformed at high temperatures.
ASTM B168 N08800 alloy applications:
Chemical industry: N08800 alloy is widely used in the chemical industry to manufacture a variety of corrosion resistant equipment, such as nitric acid coolers, acetic anhydride cracking tubes.
Power industry: Due to its excellent high temperature performance and oxidation resistance, N08800 alloy is commonly used in the power industry to manufacture equipment such as furnaces, heating elements and heat exchangers.
Other applications: In addition, N08800 alloys are widely used in nuclear generators, vacuum furnace units, chlorination equipment, titanium dioxide plants, heaters in fatty acid processes, stills, bubble towers and condensers.
ASTM B168 N08800 nickel-iron-chromium alloy plays an important role in many industrial applications due to its outstanding strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature stability.
