L245 steel is widely used in many fields

L245, also known as Grade B, is a domestic standard low-end pipeline steel. Its main chemical components include carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S).

Carbon (C): It is the main component of L245, accounting for approximately 0.17%. The presence of carbon increases the hardness and strength of steel while improving corrosion resistance. According to the API 5L standard, the carbon content requirement of L245 steel is 0.28%; while according to the GB/T 9711 standard, the carbon content requirement is 0.17%.
Silicon (Si): It is another important component of L245, accounting for approximately 0.45%. Silicon can improve the toughness and wear resistance of steel, while increasing the oxidation resistance of steel and extending its service life.
Manganese (Mn): It is the key element in L245, accounting for approximately 1.25%. According to the API 5L standard, the manganese content requirement of L245 steel is 1.20%; while according to the GB/T 9711 standard, the manganese content requirement is 1.40%.
Phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S): are trace elements in L245. The phosphorus content accounts for about 0.03%, which can reduce the cold brittleness of steel; while the sulfur content accounts for about 0.02%, which is mainly present in the inclusions of steel and has a certain impact on the performance of steel. Its presence may reduce the ductility of steel. and solderability. According to API 5L and GB/T 9711 standards, the phosphorus content requirements are both 0.03%, while the sulfur content requirements are 0.03% and 0.005% respectively.
