Analysis of Processing Technology of 27MnCrB5-2 Steel

27MnCrB5-2 steel is a high-strength steel with extremely high ductility and impact toughness, and is widely used in the fields of machinery manufacturing and automobile manufacturing. In order to ensure the performance of steel, appropriate processing technology is required.

The first is the quenching process. Quenching is to heat 27MnCrB5-2 steel to a critical temperature and then cool it rapidly to produce a large amount of martensite, thereby increasing its hardness and strength. The suitable quenching temperature of 27MnCrB5-2 steel is 850-880℃, and the cooling medium generally adopts oil, water, salt water, etc.

Followed by the tempering process. Tempering is to reheat the quenched 27MnCrB5-2 steel to a certain temperature to reduce its hardness and strength appropriately and improve its toughness and machinability. The suitable tempering temperature for 27MnCrB5-2 steel is 170-200℃, and the duration is generally 1-2h.

The last is the quenching and tempering process. Quenching and tempering is to keep the quenched steel at a suitable temperature to produce a certain amount of martensite and retained austenite, so as to improve its plasticity and toughness while maintaining a certain hardness and strength. The suitable quenching and tempering temperature for 27MnCrB5-2 steel is 820-860°C, and the holding time is generally 30min-2h.
